We can provide you with a free price estimate before the work is carried out, if you wish. Requesting a price estimate does not commit you to anything.

Below, we have listed the most common procedures. Please note that due to several variables, the prices of maintenance work are always case-specific, and the watchmaker and goldsmith price lists below are preliminary estimates. You can get a final price estimate for the work from the craftsman free of charge. You can bring your watch or jewellery for maintenance to either Kulta-Aika store, Kamppi in the centre of Helsinki or Tammisto in Vantaa.

Prices for common services, such as watch battery replacement cost, watch strap shortening cost, and watch strap replacement cost, are typically very close to the prices we have mentioned. The engraving cost always depends on the length and style of the engraving and the item to be engraved. The ring resizing cost depends on the ring's material, width, number of stones, and style.

Wristwatch battery replacement, price approximately €15-35

Normally, a wristwatch battery lasts for about 2-4 years, depending heavily on the watch's movement and its various additional functions.

The price of battery replacement is influenced by factors such as the expertise and tools required to open the watch case, and any additional procedures the watch may require, such as gasket replacement and water resistance testing.

Often, we replace watch batteries while you wait or within the same day. Gold watches and watches that require pressurization during battery replacement are sent to a watchmaker. In such cases, battery replacement takes 3-5 business days.

Watch bracelet shortening, price approximately 0-15 €

We professionally shorten all types of watch bracelets. We use appropriate tools for the job and ensure that the shortening does not cause any aesthetic damage to your watch.

We shorten watch bracelets bought from Kulta-Aika free of charge. For watches purchased elsewhere, the bracelet shortening costs approximately 10-15 €, depending on the complexity of the bracelet shortening and the amount of work required.

Most often, bracelet shortenings are done while you wait or on the same day.

Spring bar replacement, price about 10 € / piece

If an intact watch strap detaches from the watch, a broken spring bar may be the cause. A spring bar is the part used to attach the strap to the watch.

A spring bar can detach/break due to impact, but it also wears out with normal use.

We usually replace spring bars while you wait or on the same day. The price for replacing a spring bar is approximately 10 € per spring bar replaced.

Engraving on product, price from €15 / €30

Our goldsmith engraves rings, jewellery, watches and various gift items according to your wishes. Engraving always makes the product more personal and is a meaningful gift!

Machine engraving price from €15. The final price of the engraving depends on the length of the engraving.

Hand engraving price from €30. The final price of the engraving depends on the length of the engraving.

The goldsmith engraves the products in their own workshop, and the engraving takes about 3-5 business days.

Ring resizing, price starting from €60

Finger size can change over time, but you don't have to give up your beloved silver or gold ring because of it. We professionally resize rings, and after the size adjustment, the ring will be like new!

The price of ring resizing is affected by factors such as whether the ring is being made smaller or larger, the material used in the ring and any surface treatment, any diamonds and other stones in the ring, and any engraving.

The final price estimate will be provided by the goldsmith. Size adjustment takes approximately one week.
