Certina DS-1 Powermatic 80 watches are inspired by the first DS concept watches manufactured by Certina in 1960. The case of this Certina DS-1 watch is made of stainless steel, and the watch features a blue textile strap made from plastic waste collected from the oceans. The textile strap, or NATO strap, is durable and comfortable to wear. A textile strap is highly resistant to wear and tear, making it ideal for an everyday watch. The 40 mm wide, intensely blue dial has a date display at three o'clock. The dial is protected by a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on one side. The watch features a high-quality Swiss Powermatic 80 automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The movement utilizes Certina's new Nivachron balance spring, which prevents magnetization and ensures more stable timekeeping in all positions. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters, meaning it can withstand swimming but not diving.
