When fog surrounds the ship, the warriors' singing stops, and the dice roll under the planks. They glance at the guard, whose gaze is fixed on the shadow approaching from the fog. As the chief kneels to inhale the intoxicating aroma of the spice hoard, he hears shouts from the deck. At the same time, the chest lid slams shut.
