The delicate and eloquent design of the Promise necklace stems from the idea of an intergenerational chain. The jewellery depicts two hands joined together, gently holding on to each other. Designed by Heli Kauhanen, this piece reminds us how each generation continues the legacy of the Lottas and carries the torch in their turn. The jewellery is traditionally crafted in Hämeenlinna from high-quality, recycled 925 sterling silver. The pendant has a practical adjustable chain (42/45/47 cm), which allows the piece to sit beautifully with different outfits.
A promise is more than a word; it is a strong indication of voluntary commitment and the determined attitude to life that has been instrumental in building Finland. This jewellery series, created in collaboration between the Lotta Svärd Foundation and Kultakeskus, is a tribute to the Lottas' legacy, courage, and selflessness. The guiding theme of the series is the Golden Words of the Pikkulottas: "Honour the past, believe in the future". The jewellery also carries the timeless message of Lotta leader Fanni Luukkonen: "What you accomplish with your strength". These words remind us that within each of us lives strength, hope, and a sense of right and wrong.
